Larry Christensen, Ph.D., Psy.D. is a member of the Institute of Contemporary Psychoanalysis as well as founding and past Director, board member and faculty of the Northwest Center for Psychoanalysis.  Dr. Christensen trained as a Zen Buddhist monk at the Zen Center of Los Angeles for 10 years and eventually was given Dharma Transmission to teach Zen independently from Charlotte Joko Beck.  Dr. Christensen has written, presented many papers, and taught workshops/classes on the integration of Buddhist ideas and mindfulness with psychotherapy/ psychoanalysis.  Dr. Christensen also had a brief career as a neurobiologist, researching the sexual differentiation of the brain and behavior.
