Julia Schwartz, M.D.
Julia Schwartz is a training and supervising analyst at the Institute for Contemporary Psychoanalysis. She attended medical school at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland and completed a Psychiatry residency at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts. She did analytic training at LAPSI, graduating in 1996, and has been in private practice in L.A./Santa Monica since 1991. Her orientation is contemporary/intersubjective.
In addition to analytic and therapy practice, Julia is a working artist, showing in galleries both locally and elsewhere in the U.S. and her work is held in many private collections. She has a particular interest in and understanding of the creative process and those situations that can derail it, not just in the visual arts but in other areas. She enjoys working with artists of all types- writers, musicians, actors, as well as visual artists.
