Extension Foundations Course
FIRST YEAR CURRICULUM:
A PLURALISTIC APPROACH TO THEORY
• Freudian Theory and the History of Psychoanalysis
• Object Relations Theory
• Self-psychology
• Intersubjectivity
• Relational Theory
• Attachment Theory
The ICPBA Extension Program is a year-long course and is now accepting applications for the academic year 2011-2012. The deadline for completed applications is August 31, 2011.
An important goal of the Extension Program is to provide an opportunity to study contemporary psychoanalytic approaches and their clinical application. Training ranges across many theoretical schools, exploring the many innovations in contemporary psychoanalysis.
MONTHLY SEMINARS
Eight four-hour monthly seminars are held on Saturdays. Seminars feature speakers who are senior ICP analysts with particular specialization in one of the areas listed above. Assigned readings augment these presentations.
FEES$450 Licensed Mental Health Professionals
$350 Non-licensed Professionals.
$50 Administrative Fee
SMALL GROUP CONSULTATIONS
Weekly conferences facilitated by ICP analysts from the Bay Area are held at convenient locations. Students consolidate and deepen their knowledge of the foundations and application of the contemporary psychoanalysis they cover in the course.
